Today Esther drew a picture of Me on the chalkboard, I'm going out shopping, I have a bag and one I've left in the sky she told me, I also have some ear-rings and a dress and shoes and well, as you can see there is a lot of concentration going on for the final result!!!
It really blessed me!! I needed that today and her hugs and her love! It's been a very tricky, hard week! Roll on the long weekend, relaxing and no school and hopefully a happy baby!!

Bees & Lavender
There are sooo many things that I'm loving in our garden at the moment! The bees are also loving it too with the lavender and the raspberry flowers starting and the little flowers all around!
It's been sooo nice to have some sunshine at last too, with warmth in the days and growth everywhere!

Looking out the kitchen window
What will you see?? Perhaps some birds, maybe the other children, or just your own reflection in the glass!
Whatever has taken Sapphire's fancy she is happy, and big enough to sit on the bench now and help/watch Mummy cook!

A nest In our garden
I'm loving our garden at the moment, it's full of soooo many of my favourite things. I wanted to show you the birds nest I found! In actual fact a few weeks ago the children and I watched the Mummy black bird put the finishing touches to her nest with paper bark, then we saw her sitting on the nest! It was totally amazing!! Sadly though I think she thought it wasn't a safe place for her babies as I didn't see her anymore. I thought about why she went away.... it was sad to think there might be eggs left in there....... So after a week I pulled out the ladder and let my camera peek in......
This is what I saw when I played back the pictures! Isn't it amazing!?!? WOW those three precious little bluey eggs, just sitting there..... but no Mummy bird to care for them.........
For now we are keeping an eye out for any other birds making their little homes for spring! We watched some Starlings collecting dried grass yesterday for a nest and then saw she flew into the top of the church guttering right next door! Haven't been able to catch a pic of those yet! And some Collared Pigeons keep flying into the Paper bark tree in our nature strip, perhaps their home is in there somewhere! I'd love to see... but for now we will keep watching and learning about the birds that our God has created! AMAZING!!

birthday's, BirthDay'S, BIRTHDAY'S!!!
Well as you've just read by the title, it's been all about BIRTHDAY'S here in the Torrents' household in the last 2 weeks! (hence the not hearing from me for ages!!!)
And WOW oh WOW it's been an amazing, exciting, exhausting, wonderful, fun celebration time!!!
Firstly we celebrated Ezekiel's 10th birthday on the 3rd (can't believe our boy is now ten!!)
SO you have the party prep, the cakes: Car for Zeke, carrot cupcakes for Allan and lastly an elephant cake for Sapphire!! (she loves elephants, it's one of the first animal sounds that she does, even with the arm lifting for the trunk! CUTE!!!) (Zeke's was made by Kim this year, and WOW she super stared with an awesome cake!!!!) Then you have the SURPRISE, the 4 day Bathurst trip which I organised for Allan and his 4 close mates! Man that was HUGE!!! He was totally amazed by it all and had the most fabbo time!!
Back to school was supposed to start in there on Monday but with Allan only getting home late Monday, a book party on Thursday, craft market I was in on Saturday and some prep still needing to be done for my term it meant we had a little extra holiday time!!! Tomorrow we are officially back into it, term 4!
Until next time....

Beautiful princesses
It's a very special thing when Sophia joins in on the "dressing up" fun! Then it goes to a whole 'nother level when they walk around and you can capture the moment like I was able to do here.....
Ohhhh how I love you Sophia and Esther, you warm my heart and make me smile!

Lichen looking - Mountain habitat
I took the children on a local walk to the Gorge to look for some more Lichen as part of our Mountain habitat. We found some great samples of different types and the walk did us all good after sooo much rain!
It was soooo fun to see the children get excited when spotting the lichen growing around, I loved to see there enthusiasm in what they found! Can't wait to do more field trips next term!

Fungus finding { woodland/forest habitat}
With our animal study each week we have looked at a different habitat, this time around it was the Forest or woodland. We took the children to one of our favourite places, Holly Bank and went searching for Fungus and for Lichen. We found some great specimens and had a wonderful family time out too!
What is one of your favourite places to go?? Have you ever been out fungus spotting??

Lego Golden Eagle
We have been doing LOTS about animals in the last term and with that it inspires my son Ezekiel to make wonderful creations with his Lego! This time he got to work on a Golden Eagle..... (this all with no instructions, just simply his own wonderful brain!!)
