Valentine's Day Craft - getting back into the new school year!

Hello there!! WOW what a new year! Happy Valentine's Day to you all celebrating LOVE and relationships and closeness. We had a lovely day yesterday, making it a family affair with me cooking every one's FAV meal - Roast Chicken with Apple Crumble. YUM!! Then my hubbie and I watched a romantic comedy movie and called it a night! Leading up to Valentine's Day the children and I put together a cute door wreath! I found the idea HERE and with the girls help it was made in just an hour-ish.
(This photo was taken by Sapphire! She was VERY excited!
Note my fun, bright necklace, handmade by Sapphire earlier in the day during Maths!
Also note that my son looks like he is in "PHONE" land..... mmmmm)
Sophia got busy covering our "X" in washi tape (Zeke cut out the hug and kiss for us) and Esther, Sapphire and I covered the "O" in crumbled up cardstock that we had spilt to make it thinner! (we couldn't get any tissue paper at our local shop and time was ticking to get it done!! Always a good idea to make do with what you have!!)
We stuck the letters to some ribbon and hung it up!

 LOVE IT!!!
So with hugs and kisses being sent from our front door (soooo excited that I actually have a front door I can hang stuff off!) we shared the love. Looking forward to sharing more with you all soon, until then

Each and every year (well for the last two anyway) I've surprised my treasures with some Valentine's craft leading up to the special day! You can see my other ideas HERE and HERE from those previous years.
This year I've not started yet, but am planning to fix that tomorrow with some love fun and continue for the rest of the week!
I've seen some SUPER ideas and wanted to share them with you, so here is a list of links for some really cool crafts for you to try too if you like!!
Valentine's Day Cookie lollipop's
{thumbprint} Valentine's cards
Heart Treasure hunt (great for little ones with number recognition)
Amazing card I'd love to make.....
Gorgeous fashion tops that would be lovely (not really for the children this one!)
Yummo treat for the day
Sewing craft
Nature study heart craft (love this, totally my Wednesday idea!!)

Not sure what one I'll do first, perhaps the heart hunt!!

We kicked off our school year today, it was amazingly great considering it was the first day back and a Monday at that!!! I'm excited to see what the year brings!! YAY!

Valentine's Countdown Fun

One of the wonderful blogs that I follow is Almost Unschoolers. This lovely mum has given her children a special box FULL of Valentine's fun every day (for the week) leading up to Valentine's Day! I thought the idea was awesome so jumped on board too!! It's been a great way to slowly get my treasures used to school "officially" starting next Wednesday! We/they do all their jobs by 9 am then we pray then someone gets to open the Valentine's Fun BOX! They are having a ball!!
Here is what I've done so far....
Day1:
Play dough and heart cutters
(note the pink sparkles!!)

Day2:
Making "love" friendship cards

Day3:
Puzzles and Games

Day4:
Heart Paper craft

Each day I've also put a bible verse about God's LOVE for US! Hannah has taken great pleasure in finding the reference and reading it to us all each day! It's been sooo much fun! For the rest of the time I'm going to do some baking, counting with the cute little heart candy and then delivery our "love" on Tuesday!!
Hope your weekend is wonderful and fun!
